The Dorgan House is an iconic image in the Big Bend National Park. The central chimney and fireplace, made from petrified wood, stands as a monument to Albert Dorgan’s engineering. Two square windows frame the landscape, trimmed out in hand-hewed rustic timbers. SILLA removed all of the stabilized bricks from previous campaigns, repaired both window openings and the door opening, and laid non-stabilized adobe bricks to protect the ruin.
