One of the original adobe officers’ quarters, this is a collaboration between FODA, Angelyn Bass (U of NM Anthropologies), and SILLA. The scope of the work was to address the historic plaster conservation in the interior of the kitchen ell. SILLA performed structural repairs to the eroded and damaged adobe bricks. Consolidating earthen plasters were applied around the edges of existing historic plasters to protect from erosion. Stabilized earthen bricks were removed and replaced with traditional adobe bricks along the top of the wall, acting as a sacrificial element.
