This is a long-term collaboration with FODA, Cornerstones, Mudlab, and SILLA to restore the bath house (HB26), the only remaining structure of an Enlisted Men’s Barracks.
SILLA designed, fabricated, and installed temporary structural scaffolding that acts to stabilize the existing ruin and protect it from the elements while work is being done. This is the first time that a temporary system like this has been used in the National Parks.

EXTERIOR
Working from the ground up, repairs were made to the rock foundation using lime mortars. Concrete stabilized blocks and elastomeric stabilized blocks from previous campaigns caused damage to original structures and needed to be removed and replaced with earthen unstabilized blocks. Large sections of the East wall had collapsed and needed to be rebuilt. On the North wall, veneer and plaster repairs were made to bring the original adobe back into plane.
