Marfa Spirit Co.’s public bar space was part of a two-year structural redo of the 1900’s military warehouse building located on the Southern Pacific rail line in Marfa, Texas. The bar top and bar seats were milled from the original southern yellow pine floorboards. The cast concrete was formed in the original corrugated tin from the siding of the building. The tapered steel single-post, bolt-down stools were fabricated from the tail end of well pipe, leaving the coupler on to accentuate the flare. A back bar was added in a plain steel frame with a black phenolic resin top. The built-outs for the bathrooms and back of the house were done in reclaimed materials from the structural repairs to the building.
