One of a handful of original adobe buildings from historic downtown Marfa, the Corner Building dates back to around 1905. It was built as a two-story structure, with mercantile spaces on the ground floor, living spaces upstairs, and a pool hall in the basement. The building was in bad disrepair, requiring a complete structural and architectural remodel. SILLA rebuilt the outer and interior walls of adobe and replastered the entire building. New interior structures were put in place including new windows, doors, and a custom steel staircase. The entire west facing wall was removed and rebuilt, providing the opportunity to add a new foundation.
